The student admission selection program of the Physics Engineering Department is managed in an integrated manner by the Student Administration and Welfare Bureau (BAPKM). For complete information, please visit these sites underegraduate, graduate, international.

The Engineering Physics Bachelor Program is an Undergraduate (S1) education program with A accreditation for high school (SMA / SMU) graduates or equivalent (SMK). In 2017/2018 Academic Year, new student admission to Physics Engineering Bachelor (S1) Program refers to Minister of Research, Technology and Higher Education Regulation (Permenristekdikti) Number 2 of 2015 concerning New Student Admission of Undergraduate Programs at State Universities, as amended by Regulation Minister of Research, Technology and Higher Education Number 45 of 2015 concerning Amendments to the Minister of Research, Technology and Higher Education Regulation Number 2 of 2015 concerning New Student Admission for Undergraduate Programs at State Universities.

Based on the Ministerial Regulation it is stipulated that the pattern of acceptance of new students in the Bachelor (S1) Engineering Physics Program is carried out through three patterns, namely:

  1. National Selection to Enter State Universities (SNMPTN)
  2. Joint Selection to Enter State Universities (SBMPTN), and
  3. Independent Selection of Partnership and Independent Programs (PKM)

The capacity of new students in the Physics Engineering Bachelor (S1) Program received through SNMPTN is at least 30% (thirty percent), through SBMPTN at least 40% (forty percent), and through self-selection at most 30% (thirty percent) in accordance with Permenristekdikti.

Students in the Regular S1 Program are required to complete a minimum of 144 credits (semester credit units) scheduled for 8 semesters (1 semester consists of 16 weeks of lectures and evaluations). Graduates of the Engineering Physics Bachelor Program will get a Bachelor of Engineering (S.T) degree. The study load is divided into 2 stages, namely:

Preparation Phase, with a load of 36 credits scheduled for 2 semesters
Bachelor Degree, with a load of 108 credits scheduled for 6 semesters

Postgraduate Program Requirements

  1. Program participants are open to graduates of the Bachelor Program with GPA 2.75 (scale 4) (for the Masters Program) from State Universities or Private Universities with a minimum accredited study program B.
  2. Getting two recommendation letters (format can be downloaded here) that can come from:
    1. Head of agency for those who have worked.
    2. Former academic supervisor of the undergraduate program.
    3. Senior lecturer with a minimum functional position of lector.
  3. Have a TOEFL / TOEFL-like Paper based certificate with a minimum score of 450 (for master’s programs) and 477 (for doctoral programs) from institutions:
    1. Institutional Testing Program (ITP).
    2. English Language Certificate from all State Universities in Indonesia.
    3. The paper based TEFL certificate can be replaced with an IELTS certificate with a minimum score of 4.5 or TOEFL IBT with a minimum score of 32.

  4. Has an Academic Ability Potential Test certificate (TPKA) with a minimum score of 400 (for master’s programs) and 450 (for doctoral programs), issued by: ITS SPKB, or Academic Potential Test (TPA) issued by BAPPENAS, and TKDA HIMPSI. For tests at SPKB ITS can contact No. Tel. 031-5994255.
  5. Pass the entrance / entrance test selection:
    1. Write: Field Material
    2. Interview
  6. Expresses the ability to fulfill applicable academic and financial terms / procedures

 

Procedure for Registering the Postgraduate Program

  1. Through the ITS web: http://smits.its.ac.id prospective participants register the Registration Access Code (KAP) and Personal Identification Number (PIN). Prospective participants write a full name, date of birth, and a valid email address.
  2. Furthermore, prospective participants will get an email containing the Pay Code, KAP and PIN.
  3. By using the Pay Code, prospective participants pay a registration fee of Rp. 500,000.00 through the counter / Teller / ATM / Internet Banking for Bank Mandiri, BNI Bank, Bank BRI, Bank BTN, and Bank Jatim (Attention: Registration fees CANNOT be withdrawn for any reason).

  5. Prospective participants register online (via the Internet) by visiting the ITS Entrance Selection website (SMITS) with the address http://smits.its.ac.id, by logging in using KAP and PIN.
  6. To register online, prospective participants must prepare:
    1. The latest color photo file size 4 × 6 cm (wearing polite and neat clothes) with a white background in JPEG or PNG format with a maximum size of 500 KB.
    2. Bachelor’s degree (S1).
    3. Bachelor Transcript (S1).
    4. Masters Diploma (specifically for S3 program).
    5. Master Transcript (for S3 program only).
    6. Letter Recommendation 2 pieces.
    7. TOEFL / IELTS Certificate.
    8. TPA or TPKA certificate.
    9. Certificate of health.
    10. Dissertation Proposal (for S3 program only)
  7. Prospective participants must save and print the Proof Card Online Registration file.
  8. Prospective participants are not allowed to replace the chosen study program for any reason.
  9. Prospective participants sign the Proof of Registration Card at the place provided.
  10. The participant’s card is taken during the field material test and interview.

ITS offers various degree programs organized by the departments within the institute.

Degree programs are:

  • Undergraduate/Bachelor (S1)
  • Master (S2)
  • Doctoral (S3)
  • Vocational Three-Year Diploma (D3)

While some departments are opened International Class for Degree Program, which is English is used as Medium of Instruction, some departments only offer full degree programs with Bahasa Indonesia. The list of the department could be checed on here.  Interested applicants with no sufficient language score/proficiency (either in English or Indonesian) can still apply for a condition offer. ITS provides English and Indonesian courses to improve candidates’ language proficiency. For applicants who would like to apply on non International Degree Program is  required to learn Indonesia Language for 1 year period at ITS/

Application letter must be sent to ITS International Office (intladmission@its.ac.id) with complete supporting documents as listed below. If necessary, the ITS selection committee will undertake an interview session through phone or skype (if necessary). The admission requirements for each program are described in the next section.

 

Undergraduate/Bachelor (S1)

  1. A copy of high school certificate of equivalent; certified by the government official from the applicant’s country of origin.

If the applicant has no high school certificate but a certificate equivalent to the high school certificate, the copy of the certificate must be accompanied by a guarantee letter signed by the government official from the applicant’s country of origin.

  1. A copy of academic transcript from high school of equivalent; certified by the government official from the applicant’s country of origin.
  2. If applying to an English program, the applicanthas to submit a copy of valid TOEFL IBT: 64 / IELTS: 5 / TOEFL PBT: 510  (not more than 2 years). For applicants from an English learning high school, a statement letter from the high school principle is needed.

If applying to an Indonesian program, the applicant has to attend and pass an internal Indonesian language tests (written and oral) organized by ITS.

  1. A copy of valid health certificate (not more than 1 months), which is released by hospital or doctor stating about your health).
  2. motivation letter maximum of 300 words detailing the applicant’s intrest to study at ITS.
  3. A copy of valid applicant’s passport. Passport’s expiry date must be more than 18 months after the program started.
  4. Formal photo, with reqirements as follows: 1. Face and Body ar looking straight, 2. Formal clothing, 3. Red Background, 4. No hat & glasses.
  5. Letter of funding sponsorship (by parents, corporate, institution, or scholarship grantee), attached with own salary slip or parent’s salary slip.
  6. recommendation letter
  7. A filled International Students Application form*
  8. A filled Health Information Form*
  9. The latest Curriculum Vitae
  10. A filled Statement Letter for Program and Funding Form*

Master (S2)

  1. A copy of bachelor degree certificate from a regionally accredited institution; certified by the government official from the applicant’s country of origin.

Degrees from non-accredited institutions will be evaluated on an individual basis.

  1. A copy of every official academic transcript from the college or university  where the applicant has taken previous courses; certified by the government official from the applicant’s country of origin.
  2. If applying to an English program, the applicanthas to submit a copy of valid TOEFL IBT: 64 / IELTS: 5 / TOEFL PBT: 510  (not more than 2 years). For applicants from an English learning University, a statement letter from the University is needed.

If applying to an Indonesian program, the applicant has to attend and pass an internal Indonesian language tests (written and oral) organized by ITS.

Doctoral (S3)

  1. A copy of bachelor and master degree certificates from a regionally accredited institution; certified by the government official from the applicant’s country of origin.

Degrees from non-accredited institutions will be evaluated on an individual basis.

  1. A copy of every official academic transcript from the college or university  where the applicant has taken previous courses; certified by the government official from the applicant’s country of origin.
  2. If applying to an English program, the applicanthas to submit a copy of valid TOEFL IBT: 64 / IELTS: 5 / TOEFL PBT: 510  (not more than 2 years). For applicants from an English learning University, a statement letter from the University is needed.

If applying to an Indonesian program, the applicant has to attend and pass an internal Indonesian language tests (written and oral) organized by ITS.

  1. A copy of valid health certificate (not more than 1 months), which is released by hospital or doctor stating about your health).
  2. motivation letter maximum of 300 words detailing the applicant’s intrest to study at ITS.

  6. recommendation letter from prospective advisor(s)/supervisor(s) at ITS (PhD Supervisor Acceptance).
  7. Letter of funding sponsorship (by parents, corporate, institution, or scholarship grantee), attached with own salary slip or parent’s salary slip.

Tuition Fees

Degree programs (per semester)

  • Undergraduate/Bachelor (S1) – IDR 10 millions
  • Master (S2) – IDR 15 millions
  • Doctoral (S3) – IDR 18 millions
  • Vocational Three-Year Diploma (D3) – IDR 10 millions

Deadlines for paying tuition fees are before the Perwalian / FRS (Formulir Rencana Studi) week. Deadline for Odd semester/ Fall semester (semester ganjil) varies between the 2nd or 3rd week of August and for Even semester/ Spring semester (semester genap) varies between the 4th week of January or the 1st week of February. Please make sure that you pay your tuition fee before the above deadline and if you don’t you won’t be able to register any classes for the following semester.
